About Dr. Nate

Howdy All!

My name is Nathan Hamblin – Nate to most. Southwest Ohio has been my home for 40+ years. I have been an educator for over 25 years within the secondary setting while also serving as a mentor, district leadership team member, college adjunct, editor/consultant, and educational researcher.  Rural and small-town schools shaped the majority of my educational life, both as student and as teacher.  I fully acknowledge my affinity for rurality that my background instilled and the personal connections with rural places, spaces, and people – because #RuralMatters! My view of education could easily be summed up by beloved Kentucky author Jesse Stuart (1987), who stated, “Teachers who don’t have the calling aren’t worth your good tax dollar – and I use the word ‘calling’ in the old-fashioned pulpit sense” (p. 304).

Pursue your passion – abide in your calling.

Dr. Nate

“The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles, but to irrigate deserts.”
– C.S. Lewis
